Wow! What can we say? It was an amazing night last night. The games were fantastic, the music was incredible, and we got to see some of our true heroes playing the games WE made! A million thanks to all the game developers who poured their hearts and sweat into this. You made it all worth it. And thanks to everyone who came out and saw the show.

Pictures soon! But first we are heading over to the Arcadia Festival for our 5:15 presentation to talk about GAMMA and kokoromi. Come stop by the Stade Uniprix and say Hi!

Picture this: It’s midnight at a hip downtown nightclub in the heart of Montreal. The music thumps, the crowd bumps, and the room dances with lights from the projections on six giant screens.

The screen images are pulsing with the music, but this is no VJ set. At the base of each projection screen, a game controller snakes out of a high-end computer and flat-screen monitor. These are all games!

Groups of partygoers gather around the stations to watch their friends, and take turns playing and strategizing. Everyone’s playing - artists, club kids, and late night revelers mingle with game execs and developers from around the world.

This is GAMMA 01 : Audio Feed

We invite you to create a live-music-driven game for our inaugural event on November 9th. After the event, the games will be archived here on the GAMMA web site. For all the juicy details, check out our developer discussion boards, or email gamma AT kokoromi.org

See you on the 9th!

Hello, World.

It’s GAMMA 01 : Audio Feed!

We’re Kokoromi, a small group of game developers in Montreal, Quebec, with a mission to create and promote artistic and experimental gameplay. Our goal is threefold: to create small experimental games, to encourage creative games industry-wide, and to promote these games as an art form, here in Montreal.

GAMMA is Game Art Montreal, and 01 is the first in a (hopeful) series of art-game events in this city. On November 9th, we’ll be at the SAT with Audio Feed, a curated music game art event. Stay tuned to this space for more info, updates, and news leading up to the event!
