So if you have a 2 player game you can have 1 button for each player or is it only one button total?

Would probably be good if you updated the rules a bit. I hear you can’t submit pre-existing games, or whatever. Also I’d like to know if you’re allowed to release a finished entry online before the event or not.

    Quick questions:
    1. If 2-4 players, will each player get a controller? Or one controller that all players use simultaneously?
    2. Normal 360 controller, “Scene It”-style clicker controller, or something else?

Could you elaborate on the pick up & play and the 5 minutes rules? If players can enter and exit the game whenever they please, how do you measure the length of the “total gameplay session?” One rule seems to imply a game running forever and the other a game of frequent full stops.

Hey folks. We’re collecting all the questions (these, and more) and we’ll update the rules page with more details this week.

I read ‘pick up and play’ as being simple for a user to use, not so much the pre-requisites, as packaging those within the installer is always a simple option.

I aactually expect to see a lot of XNA entries, if just because of the controller requirements.

I was wondering about if these one click games are solo projects or could we have a team? also will all of our team be invited to the GDC?

What if I make a game with two players where each player only presses one button, but each player’s input does something different. For example, one player moves a guy’s left leg and the other player moves the right leg. There would be more than one type of input, but each player would have access to only one.

Probably an unnecessary question, but using the controller’s rumble feature is allowed, correct?
